The Atrium...A Gathering Place
- Aug 8, 2011
A year ago, a group of about 150 people at 2nd met to discuss strategies for growing and thriving as a church. One of the three conclusions was that we needed ways to build relationships between people at 2nd so that we would strengthen as the body of Christ.
Soon the Atrium will become one of those places where meaningful new connections and conversations can begin and friendships can grow. A new coffee bar will be serving Equal Exchange Coffee. By doing this, we will become a part of the larger Presbyterian Coffee Project that encourages third world farmers to become more self-sustainable.
But this move is about much more than a coffee bar or even a good cup of coffee. It’s about taking time to invite a new person for a cup of coffee or to talk with that person sitting across the church that you’ve always wanted to get to know. It’s about creating new connections with others at 2nd with conversation and a cup of coffee.
How will all of this happen? Every person at 2nd has a unique part to play because your presence and support will give The Atrium....A Gathering Place its spirit and warmth.
Do you have ideas how we might best use this space? Would you be interested in serving on the Coffee CONNECTions team? Have you always wanted to try your hand at being a barista? (It’s easy at 2nd) We want to hear from you. Contact the church office today to get connected with this ministry team.
