Our Session leaders guide the 2nd Presbyterian family in worship, relationships, spiritual growth, and work. They are a wise, empathetic, and unselfish group of men and women who want to see the fruits of the Spirit grow in abundance among us and a continually fresh commitment to the kingdom of God.

On June 7, 2011, the Session of Second Presbyterian Church issued a resolution affirming characteristics of Godly leadership here at Second for the office of Deacon, Elder and Ministers of the Word and Sacrament. Throughout its nearly 200 year history, our church has sought to be inclusive in our membership, evangelical in our community, and Christian witnesses to all. This spiritual heritage continues as we look to our future. Noting that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God, Second Presbyterian will maintain and continue to require all ordained leaders at our church to lead a life in obedience to the Scriptures and in conformity to the historical confessions of the church. As we individually and collectively fulfill our mission of moving "off the hill and into the city", we renew our commitment to being a community that believes the Gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful, beautiful, redemptive and the essence of hope for all!
