Ministry Teams

At 2nd Presbyterian we have many Ministry Teams which help to guide and lead the worship and life and 2nd Presbyterian.

Elders and congregation members both serve on these teams.

The teams are:

  • Communication - dealing with the communication within our church and outside advertising.
  • Congregational Care - is concerned with the life of our members.  We help setup and plan for funerals, when someone is sick and needs food, also with the people on the prayer concern list.
  • Education, Nurture & Spiritual Development  -  helps with the various Bible studies and Sunday School classes and topics.
  • Evangelism & New Member Development - our interest is in people who have been attending 2nd and would like to become members.  We also follow up with new members to see how they are becoming involved with 2nd Presbyterian.
  • Facilities & Support Services - takes care of the church building with its needs, both inside and out.
  • Personnel  -  is responsible for the office staff and works alongside the Pastor in these duties.
  • Stewardship - handles the finances of the church and works out the budget each year.  They also have the stewardship initiatives each fall during commitment season.
  • Missions - We look at the various missions and ministries that 2nd Presbyterian gives to, in the city, and the world.
  • Worship & Music  -  guides the worship life of the church planning special services, and communion.  We also sometimes assist in planning the music for our services.
  • Pre-School board  -  The mission of the board is to oversee the administration of the center as well as asist in fundraising for the tuition scholarship fund.  Second Presbyterian Church Preschool has been developed with the realization that there is a need for a state approved, planned program of nurturing and learning for young children; with the philosophy that Christian churches can provide the best environment whereby each child can grow in the fullness of his or her potential as a child of God.
