The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets monthly to knit, or crochet “Prayer Shawls”.
Mission Statement:
…to provide a handmade shawl or lap robe, created with love and prayer, for someone who needs comforting…to give hope, love, and prayer to those in need.
Suggestions may be given to the parish nurse on who it might benefit from receiving a shawl.
Completed shawls are given to the parish nurse who then distributes them as needed.
Shawls are usually given first to our congregation and secondly to members of our community.
This is a mission of love and care from this ministry and our church to others.
Hope, joy and love are woven
Into each pattern,
Along with prayers and blessings
From people of God.
May this shawl be welcomed
In the spirit in which it was made.
As you wrap it around you
May you feel God’s presence there.
He may not sit beside you,
But he is no farther than a prayer.
