SECOND PRESBYTERIAN ADOPTS WEST VIEW ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

2010 Cub Scout Troop West View start up

Second Presbyterian has decided to partner with the Boy Scouts of America to implement and support a Cub Scout pack at West View Elementary. We are in need of volunteers to serve on this committee, participate as Cubmaster, and volunteer to be Den leaders. If you are interested at all in being a part of this Cub Scout partnership please see Brittany Tuten. She has applications for adult volunteers, as well as any other information you may have questions about. This is a great way to expand our ministry at West View, and we are really excited about this partnership. We will be having another workday at West View before the school year begins. Our 2nd Serve will be Sat. August 14th

TEACHER’S WISH LISTS:

West View Teacher’s wish list are now coming in. As we continue to support, we are collecting particular items suggested by the teachers for their classrooms. We would like you to support these teachers if you feel led to do so. There is a table set up in the Atrium with the list that we currently have from some teachers. Please stop by and take a look. By adopting this school as a small piece of Knoxville where we can love our neighbors, we will seek to fill those needs. There will be ways for each of us, young and not-so-young, to serve God by serving the children of this school.

Donation Items Needed:

134 large boxes of kleenex
90 gallon size ziploc bags (any brand)
423 bottles of hand sanitizer

Please bring any of these items to the church and put them in the bins at the West View school display & sign up tables.

Many of you have signed up to be tutors and mentors for the students at West View - Thank You! If you have not signed up, but would like more information please contact Brittany Hopper at the church 523-2189.
