Bonnie Smith | Church Administrator
Bonnie Smith joined the Second Presbyterian family in March 2022, serving as Church Administrator.
Most recently, she was Assistant Administrator and Financial Secretary at Vineville United Methodist Church in her hometown of Macon, Georgia. Her primary career was devoted to physician practice management and managed healthcare, spanning cities from Minneapolis, MN to Gadsden, AL to Nashville, TN. She left the workforce for a number of years to be home with her sons, Brad and Curtis, both of whom are classical musicians (pianists) and are married to classical musicians (soprano and piano). Hobbies nurtured during that time included traveling, gardening, reading, and playing tennis. Her love of tennis led to volunteer leadership opportunities in Macon, and within the USTA Georgia and USTA Southern organizations. When she decided to re-enter the workforce (when the kids were in college!), she parlayed her tennis avocation into a career, running tournaments for juniors and adults at the local, state, sectional, and national levels, and eventually serving as Director of Tennis at a Macon country club.
She is a proud alumna of Agnes Scott College and has been married to her college sweetheart, Mark, a retired industrial engineer from Georgia Tech, for 40+ years. Their move to Lenoir City in 2021 marked the first foray into “semi-retirement”. They love the Knoxville area, especially exploring the beautiful Smoky Mountains and sampling the numerous Knoxville eateries. She enjoys reading and playing pickleball when not serving as a concierge for one of their four rescue cats.
